They are huge so you have to commit to looking funny, being an audiophile this is not a problem for me. Great for when you want things quiet or to block outside noise. The sound is very good. The headphones are great at blocking out sound without playing music or turning on the noise cancelling feature. I've had these headphones about 8 months and so far they are fantastic. There is a volume control on the ear which is nice if you need to replace the cord. The sound leak might make you self concious if you're in a quiet location, or on an airplane and do not want to disturb others.
It takes 2 AA batteries. The batteries do not last a long time. I usually go through 4 batteries in 10 hours. I use rechargeable batteries so this doesn't bother me at all. These headphones are fantastic, they are one of the best purchases I've ever made. They will slip off your head if you lean your head back or are reclining. The cord is removeable which is nice if it gets broken or you want to replace it with a shorter or longer cord.
Also having volume control on the cord is annoying and bulky. It's nice to have volume control instead of being limited to just volume control on your player. They sit outside the ears. The noise cancelling feature does make a difference, and it's much appreciated that you can still listen to music if the batteries die and you can't use the noise cancelling feature. The sound leak is pretty bad.
Comfort is very good. They do tend to crush my glasses against my head, so I try to wear contacts with them. I bought these for while riding on the subway, so I could care less about disturbing other people with all the noise from the train and the performing musicians that get on and perform their audio assault to a captive audience. I wear them almost every day.
To make matters worse the trim piece on the headband broke off and left a very unsightly appearance with wires and foam padding exposed. The Creative Aurivana Headphones have acceptable sound quality and noise reduction, but are cheaply made and fall apart despite extreme care in handling the product with no support given from the manufacturer for such problems. I emailed Creative Labs and they could not use the pictures taken with my iPhone. I bought my Creative headphones after considerable research and thought on my purchase decision. The battery door falls off when opened and inserting batteries is an awkward process at best. After several frustrating attempts Creative wrote this off to normal wear and tear and denied my request. I will still use my Creative headphones whild doing yard work with the exposed wires and foam padding and duct tape on the battery door, and save my Bose headphones for travel.
Sound is good. I tried to get Creative to replace my phones when they failed and was offered a new pair to purchase at what I paid for them in the first place.no consideration for the design flaw. The band over your head will fail after very little usage.
The headset will break and you will get no support at Creative Labs. The metal piece is housed in a flimsy plastic housing that cracks and fails under normal usage due to pressure applied whn putting the ear phones on and off your head. Comfort is good.
The band houses a metal piece which provides the tension to hold the ear phones in place. For the price, choose a different product.Copied below is a review from another site that says it best. Do not buy these head phones.
There are dozens of complaints for this problem. I sent them pictures and emailed the Chairman.no service.great sound.completely flawed design.do not waste your money.
OTHER THAN THAT VERY HAPPY. ONLY COMPLAIN IS THAT WHEN I MOVE MY JAW OR SMTH I HEAR SOUND OF FRAME MAKING LITTLE CREACHING NOISE.
CASE IS NOT SUPER HARD BUT HARD ENOUGH TO PROTECT UNLESS UNDER STRONG PRESSURE. SHIPPED ON TIME.
CAN HAVE EM ON FOR HOURS AND THEY DONT BOTHER ME. SOUND IS VERY GOOD.
NOISE CANCELLATION IS VERY GOOD. I WOULD SAY THAT IT IS NOT SIGNIFICANT.
FIRST HEADSETS OF THIS TYPE SO NOTHING TO COMPARE WITH.
